Kayla Harris

MSW, LGSW

Kayla Harris is a compassionate and dedicated social worker who is an associate clinical therapist working towards obtaining her LICSW.

She has a Bachelors degree in Social Work with a minor in Addiction Studies and a Masters degree in Social Work.

She is licensed to practice in West Virginia.

Kayla’s primary focus is working with adolescents (age 16+) and adults.

I currently work full-time with the Intensive Treatment Clinic through WVU Medicine. Most of my practice includes conducting individual and group therapy, safety planning, goal-setting, and developing personalized treatment plans to support you through it all.

I like to focus on helping individuals with depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder, and thought disorders. I use a mix of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Psychoeducational Therapy, Supportive Talk Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Acceptance Commitment Therapy. I like to focus on building your strengths and creating a caring, supportive space where you can feel understood. My goal is to use these tools to help you improve your mental health and move toward recovery.

I want you to know that what you’re doing—seeking support and working on yourself—is really hard, and it takes a lot of courage. You don’t have to do this alone. Together, we’ll take it one step at a time by creating a safe space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported. I’m here to walk alongside you, helping you find strength and hope as we work toward your goals. We’ve got this!

“Outside of therapy, I spend my time with my fiancé and three cats (Severus, Mr. P, and Goggles). I love to be outdoors and enjoy being adventurous! A few of my hobbies include line dancing, playing volleyball, trying new foods, thrifting, and throwing pottery. On a rainy day, you can find me with a soft blanket watching Criminal Minds or The Office.”
