College is supposed to be the best years of your life.
Okay…but what if it isn’t?
Maybe you’re homesick but feel ridiculous admitting it. Maybe you’ve changed your major three times. Maybe everyone else seems to have found their people while you’re still trying to figure out where you fit.
Or maybe your version of college looks completely different.
Counseling For College Students
You might be taking online classes from a university hundreds of miles away while working a full-time job. You might be raising kids while finishing a degree after everyone else has gone to bed. You might be returning to school at 30, 40, or 50 and wondering why you thought adding discussion boards and research papers to an already-full life was a good idea.
You may be a first-generation college student, a graduate student, a veteran using your GI Bill, a commuter, an adult learner, or someone trying to finish the degree you started years ago.
Whatever brought you here, and whatever “college student” looks like for you, you belong here.
You might be dealing with anxiety, ADHD, burnout, family pressure, trauma, loneliness, perfectionism, relationship problems, or the constant mental load of trying to keep all the pieces of your life moving at the same time.
Or maybe nothing is dramatically wrong.
You’re just overwhelmed.
You don’t have to be in crisis to come to therapy.
When you’re carrying school AND the rest of your life.
Sometimes school isn’t the only hard thing.
You’re answering work emails while thinking about the paper that’s due Sunday. You’re trying to study after putting your kids to bed. You’re working shifts, managing a household, caring for family, maintaining relationships, paying bills and somewhere in there, you’re supposed to learn something.
It can be hard to explain why you’re struggling when you were the one who chose to go back to school.
You can be grateful for the opportunity and still be exhausted by what it requires.
At Unbound, we work with students navigating:

And looking for Therapy that doesn’t feel like another assignment.
You don’t need to show up knowing exactly what to talk about.
Come in your comfy clothes. Bring your coffee. Sit on the floor if that’s where you’re comfortable. Make something while you talk. Take a walk with your therapist when available.
And if you’re joining us virtually between work, class, school pickup, and whatever else your day has thrown at you?
Well…That’s okay, too. No perfect therapy language required. No need to have everything figured out before you get here.
Wherever you are in your education, we’ll meet you there…
First semester. Final semester. Community college. WVU. An online university across the country. Graduate school. A degree you came back to finish after ten years.
There isn’t one right way to be a college student.
Whatever your circumstances may be, you deserve a place where you don’t have to carry all of it by yourself.
College and life can be hard enough.
Finding someone to talk to shouldn’t be.
