Nathan Altman

Nathan Altman is a Licensed Professional Counselor.
He received a Master of Arts in Counseling from West Virginia University. He has a background in college counseling. He was born in Charleston, WV and has lived in Morgantown, WV for 10 years.
He is licensed in West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
Nathan’s primary focus is working with adults age 18+.
Some of his clinical interests are working through the mental health challenges of men. He also works with anxiety, depression, disordered eating, childhood trauma, bipolar disorder, grief and loss, identity issues, and life adjustments. Nathan also works with behavioral addictions such as pornography, with helpers, caregivers, and highly sensitive people.
Nathan uses a Humanistic Therapy approach meaning he believes people have the inner resources needed to lead healthy lives. He has an integrative approach that also pulls from Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Somatic Therapies (body-based interventions).
He sees his role in counseling as helping clients access their inner wisdom, confidence, and compassion to address their unique life challenges.
Nathan believes in the importance of creativity and spontaneity in counseling to allow minds to adopt different perspectives on the issues we face.
Outside of his professional life, Nathan enjoys spending time with his wife and loved ones. He also likes camping, backpacking, painting, playing sports, playing Dungeons & Dragons, and good conversation.
